The Zoom H4E Essential Handy Audio Recorder with advanced features such as 32-bit float recording, dual A/D converters, and a color LCD screen. It can record up to 96kHz sample rate and has a 130 dB SPL XY mic. The recorder also has 2 XLR/TRS combo inputs, a 3.5mm mic/line input, and a built-in mixer for adjusting audio levels. It can be used as an audio interface for PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices via USB-C port. The H4essential also has voice guidance accessibility for the visually impaired and can record to SD cards up to 1TB. It has a battery life of 10 hours on AA batteries or can be powered via USB-C bus power.

The Zoom H4E Essential Handy Audio Recorder is suitable for various recording purposes, including music, location sound, interviews, and podcasts. It has soft touch controls for quiet operation and a built-in speaker for quick reference playback. The recorder also has a 3.5mm line output for headphones or connecting to a camera, and a 3.5mm mic/line input. It supports SDXC cards up to 1TB for high-capacity storage and can be synced with wireless timecode devices via Bluetooth using the BTA-1 adapter (not included). The H4essential also has a vivid full-color LCD screen for easy navigation and supports multiple languages for accessibility and ease of use.

The Essential Series was designed with Accessibility for the blind and visually impaired. Navigate the menu with audible descriptions through the built-in speaker or headphones. Creators can choose English, Spanish, French, Japanese, German, Italian or Chinese.
