The Softie Windshield and Shockmount system is a popular choice for ENG (Electronic News Gathering) on camera microphones due to its fast, flexible and cost-effective solution. It consists of a slip-on open cell foam with a fitted fur cover, providing up to 25dB wind noise reduction and protection for the microphone. The system also includes a separate shockmount with a bracket and either a pistol grip handle or boom adaptor.
